A Gothic Revival country estate in the Hertfordshire countryside, set within nearly 200 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. It's just off the M25 and 35 minutes from London by train, which makes it one of the more accessible rural venues of this scale.

The building has centuries of history – period interiors, carved stone, a chapel, portrait-lined corridors – and the architecture is dramatic without feeling stuffy. There are 189 bedrooms across several accommodation blocks within the grounds, recently refurbished with warm, contemporary interiors. A short walk connects them to the main house.

Conference facilities are extensive. Over 20 meeting rooms seat up to 250 theatre-style, with around 50 smaller syndicate rooms for breakout sessions. Setups range from classroom and cabaret to boardroom and horseshoe, with full AV throughout.

All catering is handled in-house, with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced produce. A courtyard café serves bakes and coffee during the day, and a cosy cocktail bar is the natural gathering point in the evening.

There's an 18-hole parkland golf course right next door, regularly ranked in the UK top 100. Onsite, overnight guests have access to an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Archery, clay shooting and wellness sessions can all be arranged.
