Restored Portuguese farmhouse with two swimming pools, sauna and tennis court in Arrábida Natural Park, 50 minutes from Lisbon

On 20 hectares of protected land within Arrábida Natural Park, this restored farmhouse sits between forested hills and the dramatic limestone coastline of Portugal's Blue Coast. Lisbon is just 50 minutes away, but the setting feels a world apart – sheltered by Mediterranean pines, olive groves and cork oaks, with some of Portugal's most beautiful beaches a short drive down the hill.

The property has been carefully brought back to life as a place for groups to gather. The main farmhouse holds 11 ensuite bedrooms across a mix of king, double and twin configurations, all with air conditioning. It's let on an exclusive-hire basis, so your team has the entire estate to yourselves.

Outside the farmhouse, the grounds are where this venue really comes into its own. There are two swimming pools, a sauna and ice bath, a tennis court, a volleyball court, and large terraces and gardens with space to spread out. For the Arrábida region, it's a generous amount of outdoor space – and with the park's hiking trails accessible from the doorstep, there's no shortage of ways to spend time between sessions.

For meetings and workshops, a converted barn offers 200m² of flexible space that can seat up to 80 or work comfortably for smaller workshop groups of around 30. It comes equipped with AV, a sound system and whiteboards, with a kitchenette alongside for breaks. Additional meeting rooms are available across the estate for breakout sessions or smaller conversations.

Food is handled by Geo & Loïs, who manage the quinta and live on-site, so they’re always around if you need anything during your stay. They grow over 10 varieties of tomatoes and basil, and will make sure the food is one of the highlights of your experience.

The nearby village of Azeitão is one of the region's culinary highlights – known for its Moscatel wines, handmade sheep's milk cheese and traditional pastries – and wine tastings can be arranged as part of a retreat programme.

Other activities include guided hikes through the natural park, boat trips along the Arrábida coast, and pasta-making workshops.

The estate is open from May through October, making it best suited to spring and summer retreats.
