Design-led London hotel with rooftop restaurant and meeting spaces steps from the South Bank

A short walk from the River Thames, this Southwark hotel puts teams in one of London's most culturally rich pockets, with the Tate Modern, Borough Market, Shakespeare's Globe and the Southbank's theatres and galleries all within strolling distance. It's a practical base for groups who want the city on the doorstep without losing the feeling of a proper neighbourhood: independent restaurants, riverside walks and food markets sit alongside easy tube links into the rest of London.

The interiors lean industrial and characterful, with concrete ceilings, marble surfaces and a lobby that works as well for informal catch-ups as it does for coffee before the day starts. There are 192 rooms across six floors and five categories, all with comfortable beds and fast wifi throughout.

Six meeting rooms sit on a single floor, arranged around a central pantry. They range from small studies seating six up to a combined living and dining room that takes 44 theatre-style or 35 for dinner, and the whole floor can be taken exclusively for 130 standing, with a wraparound balcony included.

Every room has natural daylight, air conditioning, a screen and flip charts, and a host stays on site for the day. The pantry keeps coffee, snacks and a stocked fridge going throughout, then turns into a private bar in the evening.

For larger gatherings, a top-floor bar and winter garden opens onto an open-air terrace, holding 130 standing or 50 seated with its own bar and DJ setup. The rooftop restaurant can also be taken over in full for up to 240.

An on-site co-working space gives teams somewhere to settle in for focused hours between sessions. It has five bookable meeting rooms seating eight to fourteen, all with screens and video conferencing, plus phone booths, lounges and a members' café.

Food and drink is a genuine draw. The rooftop restaurant serves seafood with Southern European flavours alongside sweeping views across the city, while the all-day neighbourhood restaurant and bar downstairs handles everything from breakfast to late drinks.
