Surrounded by a moat and 85 acres of parkland in a quiet corner of northwest Norfolk, this Grade I listed castle has been a family home since the early 1600s. Parts of the building date back to 1450, and the property has passed through some of England's most storied families โ including connections to the Wars of the Roses and the Battle of Bosworth.
The castle is let on an exclusive-hire basis, with 15 bedrooms across the main building. These include eight doubles, three twins, three zip-and-link rooms and a master suite with its own adjoining reception room. There are two kitchens, including a fully fitted family kitchen with an AGA, and the whole place is decorated with family portraits, historic furniture and characterful detail you only get in a house that's been lived in for centuries.
For meetings and workshops, the oak-panelled dining room seats up to 30 and doubles as a boardroom, with a large screen available. The Great Hall offers a more flexible space โ it can be set up with tables and chairs for larger sessions or left with soft seating for more informal discussions. All meeting spaces are included in the hire.
Beyond the formal rooms, there's a billiards room with a table tennis table, two reception rooms (both with open fires), a croquet lawn, a summer house, and outdoor seating areas with a fire pit and barbecue. The grounds stretch out across lawned gardens and rolling farmland, with the moat wrapping around the castle.
For group activities, clay pigeon shooting, axe throwing, archery and falconry displays can all be arranged through local providers. The north Norfolk coast is a short drive away, and the Royal estate at Sandringham is nearby. Catering is handled by Norfolk-based private chefs who can be booked for some or all of your stay.
